Build a Better Birth Program

At Family First Doula Service & Maternal Wellness we’re working to change the way Saskatchewan women plan for and experience new motherhood by placing the power of education and strong community back into the hand of mothers.

We want you to feel empowered by the birth experience and the first step in doing so is making informed decisions about your care and building a supportive community to lean on as you find your footing as a new mother.

We also want to look past the birth itself and show you how to prioritize those early postpartum weeks in hopes to reduce the risk factors for Maternal Mental Health complications and set the entire family up for a gentle transition into parenthood

Having a baby is the most life changing experiences you will ever go through, and although there is no right or wrong way to have a baby, we want to make sure you have all the tools you need to walk away feeling empowered and above all HEALTHY!

We know that healthy families begin in pregnancy, that’s why we’ve designed our Build a Better Birth Program to help get you started!

This online program includes:

-12 modules which were designed with the goal to not only educate families about the birth basics, but to encourage them to dig a little deeper into evidence based practices compared to the current cultural norm of “routine care” so that they can remain in the driver’s seat when it comes to their birth and reduce unnecessary complications.

- Access to exclusive downloads (Affirmations, Tools, Supplies List...)

- Access to our Build a Better Birth FB group to connect on a more personal level with like minded women that you can lean on for support.

- Continued support from our team of birth professionals. Have a question? Just ask! Doula support should be available to everyone and we want to make sure you have support throughout the entire process. Our team is available to help answer any questions or concerns that pop up along the way and of course offer encourage as your approach your birth day.

We look forward to working with you and are here to help in anyway we can!

*Doulas provide physical, emotional and educational support to women and families during pregnancy, labour and into the postpartum. Although they are educated and experienced in birth, they do not replace or offer medical advice at any time but offer support as you navigate your unique needs during your pregnancy.
